And They Lived Happily (?) Ever After

Her father looked at her and smiled."I wanted to be a cop because I wanted to help save and protect people. I wanted to stand up for what I believed in. I was the only black cop there but that didn't stop me. I loved my job and loved being something that people looked up to."Evie smiled right back at her father. The sun was hitting her face. Even though her father lost his job, she would still love him no matter what.  "Anna applied to a college and got accepted", Evie said. Her father looked at her with such delight. " Even if she leaves; even if you leave you will always be my sweet copper penny." Evie hugged her father knowing that there was better things to look up for. Better things to do. Finally she said,"lets just forget that all of this happened. Lets just forget about all of our problems. Forget about Anna and Mama. The only two people in the world are you and me."

                                                                     THE END :)

Witness Protection Program- The Good & Bad

The Witness Protection Program has a good and bad side affect to the Thomas family. The good thing about the program is that it is meant to protect the family from harm. They provide food and money and a place for you to stay while you there. When Mr. Green (now Mr. Thomas) testifies against the 2 police men for manslaughter, the job of the witness protection program was to protect them. The family had to change their names in order to protect their identity. The Witness Protection Program provides the family to live in a safe community so that they can move on.
There are a lot of bad things about the program that the family doesn't like. One main thing that the family doesn't like is that they had to move. Now, they had to change their school, their name and their life. Evie doesn't really complain about the new life. All she does is join the track team. Cameron says that now, she can't be popular anymore. Now, she studies all the time and gets A's on all her test, that way she could leave and to college when she's 16 years old. The mother doesn't really know what to do so she becomes a Jehovah Witness. The father lost his job so now, he just sits at the window everyday and stares into space. The family is turned upside down because of this program.

Compare and Contrast - Personality Changes

Mr. Green has undergone a tremendous change since the beginning of the story to his time in being in the witness protection program.  The reason that he and his family had to be in the witness protection program was because he didn't want Mr. Randall and Mr. Dennis to hurt the family. Evie's father told on the two cops because they killed an innocent black boy. Now, they had to change their identity, and they had to move. This made a tremendous effect on the father's personality.
Mr. Green was a very brave man. He wasn't weak. He would always go to work because he loved his job. He was also very happy and loved to spend time with his family. But now, it's different. Now he lost his job. He's depressed all the time. He whispers the miranda over and over again. The father's family is all sad and turned upside down. And he doesn't really know what to do.
I think that the father will eventually step out of his depression and move on forward. I think that the father will support himself and the family and try to move on forward. Evie, Anna, and Mamma will live better lives and will try to figure out what to do with themselves.

Dear Anna....

You have gone though a lot so far and I know that it is difficult for you to deal with. You are sick and tired of having to live your life hiding. You want to make friends and be popular but the life that you are living now just doesn't let you do that. But I am here to help you by giving you some advice.
If you want to make some friends at school, try to talk to some kids little by little. Don't get frustrated. If you keep talking to people little by little , you will have some friends in no time. You just don't get popular right away. It takes time for people to get to know you. You need to try to adjust to your new life.
Don't get mad at your father. If you want to talk to him about what he did to make the family move, talk to him with patience and understanding. Don't get mad at your mother or Evie. They love you a lot and they are trying to get through this situation too. If you think that by telling your family about your troubles will worry them more, write it in a journal. By writing it in a journal you can express your self without worrying others. Try to do things with you and your family that would try to get your mind off the situation. Even if you go back to your new life, it will never be the same again.
Follow my advice. I had never been in your situation but this is some advice that I am giving you that I think that would help you. I hope you feel better soon.

Hush- What choice would you make?

In the book "Hush" Evie's father witnessed a death of a fifteen year old boy. He was killed by two cops named Mr. Randall and Mr. Dennis. In the book the two police men try to manipulate Evie's father by saying that they thought that the boy had a gun. But Evie's father doesn't believe that. He saw what happened to the boy. The boy was on his knees with his hands in the air. He had no gun in his hand and he didn't even try to move to get a weapon. Evie's father has the choice of reporting this to serve justice for the boy and his family or just staying quiet so that he doesn't get in trouble.
If I was Evie's father, I would tell somebody what they did. It would be kind of scary to me if they make a threat but I'm only doing what's right. The main reason that I would tell is because if I keep quiet, they might end up killing someone else or more people . If I tell somebody, they might be suspended or expelled from there job so that they don't have to kill no more people. I won't let them get away. In the process of doing that, I may think twice or regret what I have done but it's their choice for what they did and they have to pay the consequences for what they have done.

Using imagery to describe a mood:)

When I was younger, I remember my grandpa from my mothers side had to move to Puerto Rico because he had lung and terminal cancer. He didn't want to mom to find out that he had cancer because she didn't want for her to worry about  his condition. My grandpa had dark skin and he had short gray hair. When he was in Puerto Rico for a while, one of our family members send us a picture of what he look like now. His skin got more pale and has less hair. He was all bent over. I guess that the radiation therapy that he had made him look more skinnier and more older. The only reason that he really moved away was all because of his cancer.

I have a lot of qualities that make me unique. One quality that makes me unique is that I am smart. I like the fact that i can use my intelligence to get me places and to prove to others that I am a leader and a good role model. When ever some one needs help with a question, they always come to me for help. Another quality that I have is that I am hardworking. I never stop working until I get to the places that I want to go. I always finish my work and if I don't finish it, I try to finish it. I am always preparing for the day that the state comes that way i can past the test and don't fail. One last quality that I have is that I am a very creative artist. I'm not the best artist or professional in the world but I know how to draw. Most of the things that I draw or anime. The rest of the things that I draw are just things that just come to my mind. Also, when I grow up, I want to be a lawyer. These are some of the qualities that make me, ME!!
